This is more or less a test post...
It has been ages since I left LJ back in the days ... and I get flashback memories here just now...
I am not 100% sure I will stay here. If tumblr gets this feature up that is supposedly there to replace the replies "soon" (when is soon??) I might forgive them and give them some more time. Until then I will try to crosspost my new art and stuff over there and here and deviantART as well.
But yeah... it's good to know this place exists.
And maybe things on tumblr will turn to the better again next week, when I have no time for internet stuff because I am across the country to a conference for 4 days...? Hope dies last, right?

Why do they try to "fix" things that aren't broken and work just fine? *sigh* I don't get tumblr...
But as long as there are some people I care about I will stay on tumblr, too. It's just good to know that some people are here on DW as well in case you need to find them once tumblr has gone down... :(

I'm staying on tumblr, too. Don't want to cut ties with so many great people. But I'm having fun on DW so far, too.

Unfortunately I'm not actually sure what to do about that since DW isn't great for that kind of content sharing either and it's been a while since I've had a deviantArt account. I'm also reluctant to just dump my tumblr like that because I like the people I follow there but it's definitely felt much more quiet and isolated than before they made those changes.
I'm liking DW so far for other things though, it feels like a place where 'personal blah blah' is much more acceptable than it is on tumblr. Though that might be just me - I always feel like my own personal posts are cluttering up my blog a bit when it should be reserved for actual fun stuff!

But as long as some people are there I will stay on tumblr, too. There are a lot of people I would miss... though yes... since they took replies away talking to them has become way more difficult and my dash is way quieter than before :(
And who takes a feature away and doesn't have the new one ready to go? In time for th enew feature to go online people have already abandoned ship and won't even see the new thing...
Tumblr is not very smart there... :(
So yes, let us hope together that things will improve over there again.
And devART is not that bad... though A LOT quieter than in past years, too. Maybe it's a trend that people don't want to talk anymore?

Totally agreed on 'who does that??', it's incredibly bad business practice. It would even be an improvement if we had a date for when it's coming but we don't even have that. Honestly I think tumblr is relying on the fact that there isn't really a comparable social media website for people to move to - it's a sort of middle ground between micro-blogging like twitter and long-form sites like this one and LJ. It is a lot more convenient for sharing and things like art, but yes.
I left devART a while ago because imo it was also feeling like the users were the commodity rather than the customers - they've always been really bad when it comes to stuff like art theft and whatnot. It does also have a lot of bad eggs purely due to being the biggest and most well known site, I think. That being said I do sort of miss the exposure I got there, the community things they introduced were really nice for that. I do occasionally consider starting one up again but haven't yet - if tumblr continues as it is I might well end up doing that. Even if it is quieter, though I admit that sounds strange - before I left it definitely couldn't be called quiet. Maybe it's just something to do with the shelf life of a website?
